About Caleb Schallert, in brief: I've done SEO and web design since 1998, and built the marketing systems that turn searches into customers along the way. The short version of my story isn't a résumé; it's a lesson in growth, learned the long way and worth the wait.
About Caleb Schallert: Where It Started
I was born in 1985 in Santa Rosa, California. Sonoma County, wine country.
The Nintendo came out in America that same year, and video games got me before anything else did. I used to trace the map of Zelda by hand to see how the whole world fit together.
Reading a site map turns out to be the same thing. I didn't know that yet. The discipline took a lot longer to show up.
I Learned Growth at a Workbench, Not a Whiteboard
My dad built a lead-generation company that did very well while I was in high school. He kind of showed me what was possible.
In 1998 he sat me down in front of Dreamweaver and I built my first website. It was a GoldenEye 007 cheat-code site.
That same summer I got let loose on the school directory. By the end of the year it was pulling roughly a third of the site's traffic.
That's where directories and SEO got into me. Do it right once, so it holds.
The Hard Years Remade Me
I stood on the yellow footprints at boot camp. The Marine Corps took me apart and put me back together as somebody different.
It gave me discipline and it deepened my faith. It also left me with a thing I still lean on every hard day.
When you think you've given a hundred percent, there's usually fifty to seventy-five more in there. I've had to go find it more than once.
The deeper lesson came later. You can't fight a spirit with bullets. I tried.
So I set the rifle down and picked the guitar back up. Music and words got to places force never did, which is a strange thing for a Marine to say out loud.
A Fresh Start in Houston
I landed in Houston in 2018 after a hard reset. Clean slate, not much else. So I started building again, this time for myself.
Your past doesn't get to decide your future. That season is where I learned it.
The roots grow ten times over before anything breaks the soil. Nobody sees that part.
Houston is big enough that I could build for almost any industry I wanted to. Healthcare one month, home services the next, a law office after that.
I never picked one lane. Every client since has gotten the same first question out of me. What's happening on your site and in your market right now?

What I bring is a career of doing it right that started in 1998, a Marine's refusal to quit, and a plain belief that every business has something in it worth growing.
