Content Marketing

Content Marketing Services That Earn Trust, and Leads.

Content marketing here means topic clusters that own a subject and feed the pages that sell. I've inherited blogs with two hundred posts and no path from any of them to a service page.

Content Marketing Services Start With Your ZIP Code

A blog post that answers no one's actual question just sits there collecting dust, no matter how often you publish it. Give me your ZIP and I'll tell you what your market is typing into Google.

Content is still the oldest tool in the shed: ink and soil, side by side, doing the same slow work they always have.

What's included

What Content Marketing Includes

Every piece gets written by somebody who knows the subject and read again before it links anywhere. The review is where most of the weak drafts die.

  • Clusters build authority over time.
  • I go after questions your competitors miss, and I make sure those topics end up yours.
  • Each piece links to its own conversion page.

Gap research comes first, then the calendar, and I plan SEO and content together. It's just me, building on the discipline of SEO and web design I've done since 1998.

Content is written and grown on the same bench.

Where the gaps are

Finding the Topics Competitors Leave Unanswered

I read the top pages for a term and find the question none of them answers.

  • I look for the top result that answers the surface question but skips the follow-up entirely.
  • I look for content that's thorough but generic, nothing in it reflecting real, specific expertise.
  • I look for buyer questions with no good page answering them anywhere on the web.
  • A long article often competes against results that are mostly video.
  • I catch unsourced claims.

Query volume and intent pick the topics.

The architecture

Building the Cluster: Hub-And-Spoke Architecture

One hub page covers the subject, and each spoke goes deeper on one piece and links back up.

  • Each spoke covers one angle and never competes with the hub.
  • I plan the links first.
  • My anchor text names the destination, never 'click here.'
  • The hub goes live first, which gives each spoke somewhere to link the moment it's ready.

I redirect the weaker of two spokes into the stronger when both answer the same question.

I look at a cluster again when a spoke drifts toward another piece's question.

One hub, many rooted runners. That is a content cluster.

The calendar and the report

The Editorial Calendar, and What a Month-One Report Shows

A calendar with dates publishes. A list of ideas dies in a spreadsheet nobody opens after March.

I revisit older pieces on a set schedule. Daily posting on social channels is social media management services, a separate job.

  1. I put the hub first in the calendar and tie each piece to a commercial page.
  2. Each brief names the questions.
  3. You get a monthly report on which pieces gain organic traffic and which topics move up.

The calendar is the plan. The seedlings are the report.

The Journal vs. your content

Content Marketing and the Journal

The Journal on this site is the method run on my own business. You can read what I publish and see whether it holds up before you pay me to do it for you.

  • Content built for a client belongs entirely to that client, full stop, no exceptions.
  • I write to a client's voice, and I never impose my own onto theirs.
  • I'd rather turn down a project, plain and simple, than write past genuine expertise.
  • Content compounds too slowly to fix an urgent lead shortfall on its own.

Content marketing services run that system on your topics, and I track visibility on those tied to a conversion page.

Here’s what I build for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

These only live on this page. If yours isn't here, ask me below.

The Basics

Does Blogging Still Help?

Yes, it still helps when your posts sit in hub-and-spoke clusters that build on each other.

Who Writes the Content?

I write every piece to expertise and review it before it publishes.

How Do You Pick Topics?

Questions competitors skip go first.

How Does Content Generate Leads?

Every piece links straight to its own conversion page.

What Is Content Marketing, in Plain Terms?

It gives future customers guides that answer what they ask, built to earn rankings.

What Is B2B Content Marketing?

The same discipline, aimed at a longer buying cycle, usually more than one person has to say yes before a sale closes. So B2B content marketing has to answer the questions of the whole buying committee, not just whoever clicks first.

What Is a Content Marketing Strategy?

This plan ties topics to the publish order so nothing competes with itself.

Strategy & Clusters

How to Create a Content Marketing Strategy?

I start from the gap research, then map the cluster to a publish calendar.

What's a Content Cluster, and Why Does It Matter More Than One-Off Posts?

Spoke articles reinforce one hub, never compete against it for the same search.

How Is Content Marketing Different From Your Own Journal?

Your business gets the same kind of system, built around your topics and conversion pages.

Do You Build an Editorial Calendar, or Just Write When There's Time?

A dated calendar, which piece publishes when, in what order, tied to which commercial page it supports. Not a loose topic list with no production schedule.

How Do You Decide Which Topics to Write First?

The gap research drives the order. Topics competitors leave thin or unanswered, and the pieces tied to your highest-priority conversion pages, come first.

Is Content Marketing the Same Thing as SEO Copywriting?

Copywriting is one piece. Content marketing is the strategy underneath, which decides what I write and why.

Quality & Standards

How Do You Make Sure Content Doesn't Read Like AI-Spun Filler?

Each piece gets written to expertise, then reviewed before it publishes.

Does Every Piece Need to Be Written by an Expert, or Can It Be Reviewed After?

Either can work, as long as expertise shapes the final piece. The review step exists specifically to catch content that sounds plausible but isn't accurate.

How Long Should a Piece of Content Be to Rank?

As long as it takes to fully answer the question, no more. Padding a thin topic to hit a word count, at least in my experience, hurts more than it helps.

Do You Update Old Content, or Only Publish New Pieces?

Older pieces get revisited on a cadence before they go stale and lose rank.

What's the Difference Between Content Marketing and Link Building?

Link building earns links to the asset content marketing creates.

What Are the Best Tools for Content Marketing?

I pick topics from search-volume data and the competing pages.

Process & Results

How Often Do You Publish New Content?

The calendar sets how often I publish, which keeps the cluster growing without filler.

How Do You Measure Whether Content Marketing Is Generating Leads?

I track which pieces are gaining organic traffic and rankings, plus whether readers are moving from the article to the conversion page it links to.

Does Content Marketing Work Without an Existing Audience?

Your first audience usually builds this exact way: by answering the questions people ask well enough that search sends people who don't know you yet.

Can Content Marketing Replace Paid Ads Entirely?

It can reduce reliance on them over time, since content compounds where ad spend stops the moment you stop paying. But the two working together, at least in my experience, usually outperforms either alone.

How Do You Measure Whether Content Marketing Services Are Working?

A monthly report on which pieces are gaining organic traffic and rankings, and which planned topics need to move up the calendar because of new demand.

How Much Does Content Marketing Cost?

I don't publish a blanket number. It depends on how many pieces a month and how deep the research runs. So I'll price the actual plan once I've seen your gaps, not before.
