Florida
Internet Marketing Service in Florida: One Accountable Map.
I'm Caleb Schallert, based in Houston, and I run internet marketing for businesses in Florida the same remote-first way I run it everywhere I don't have a local office: websites, SEO, video, ads and automation, one person across all of it. An audit first, a plan you can see, and Search Console data every month proving it moved.
Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code
The state runs on local markets, from Jacksonville out. Give me your ZIP, and I'll tell you straight what results look like for your specific one.

Working With Me From Houston
You don’t get a local rep, since I don’t have one to send. I run this from Houston, same as everywhere else.
- First, a plain look at what exists
- Then a plan open to your questions
- Then something you can see, fast
That’s what the first month looks like. No black box, no quarterly surprise.

Here’s what I build for you.
Audit
Everything live gets read before anything changes
Build
Built on a schedule you can follow along with
Prove
Numbers from Search Console, dated and checkable
Every client gets the same three steps as everywhere I work. But I’d rather hand you a number than tell you it’s going well.
The Market, by the Numbers
23,372,215 people, 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate). That's Florida, and the size of the field a business here competes in.
- 23,372,215 people, 3rd by population
- 645,575 employer businesses, 3rd nationally (2023)
- About 27.6 employer businesses per 1,000 people
- Largest city: Jacksonville, 1,009,833 people
The hardest market to break into sits right there (4% of the state's population), where the volume concentrates.
5 metro areas make up the largest markets by population, each with its own local search reality:
- Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach: 6,457,988 people
- Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater: 3,424,560 people
- Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford: 2,940,513 people
- Jacksonville: 1,760,548 people
- North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota: 934,956 people
The state splits across 2 federally defined time zones: Eastern and Central, depending on where in the state you are. That's per 49 CFR Part 71. I've never made a client adjust to Houston hours; the standing call moves to fit them.
The Top Industries
I pulled BLS employment data instead of guessing, and these are the industries the state runs on.
- Health Care and Social Assistance: 1,321,104 jobs, 2024 (and here it's trust signals and reviews that decide a click, almost as much as being nearby)
- Retail Trade: 1,152,918 jobs, 2024 (and the map pack rewards whoever keeps hours and inventory current)
- Accommodation and Food Services: 1,053,017 jobs, 2024 (where answering a bad review fast beats collecting five-star ones passively)
Which of these three a business sits in changes the first ninety days more than anything else on this page.
Metro Search vs. Statewide Search
I've explained this same split to more businesses than I can count. So the page ends up answering two searches at once, on purpose.
- A search from Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach already reads local to Google before I touch anything
- Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
- Mobile search leans local by default; desktop leans toward research
- Plenty of searches for the state by name come from people who've never set foot here
One reader is comparing the whole state; the other already knows their metro by name.
What I Would Do First for a Florida Business
I ask which metro a business competes in before I ask anything else about the business. Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach and Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater aren't remotely the same fight.
- 1,321,104 people worked in Health Care and Social Assistance here as of 2024. That's why I'd prove the credentials out before spending a dollar on anything else
- 1,152,918 people worked in Retail Trade here as of 2024. That's why I'd lock in the hours and stock data before I'd write a single page
- 1,053,017 people worked in Accommodation and Food Services here as of 2024. That's why the first fix here is always the response time, not the review count
Days 30 to 60 build the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach-specific plan; a smaller metro can probably win faster on a thinner field. I've built for markets ten times Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach's size, and the process stays the same; only the pace changes.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack
I judge the state's timeline against Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach and North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota separately, since a build that clears North Port-Bradenton-Sarasota in weeks can take months in Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach. I plan a build around several calendars at once, not one borrowed from the biggest industry.
- Health Care and Social Assistance is the one to watch here; it runs the flattest calendar of the three, steady demand year-round
- Retail Trade is the one to watch here; it moves with the national shopping calendar, busiest late in the year
- Accommodation and Food Services is the one to watch here; it climbs when travel does, and quiets down right after
645,575 employer businesses call the state home, spread across industries that don't share a rhythm.
Internet Marketing Service in Florida: What an Audit Usually Turns Up
None of this is from your site. It is what audits on other sites turned up, set down so you can see what a first look finds.
- 66 business names across 118 pages, 65 of them wrong
- 22 of 157 redirect destinations returned 404
Sixty-Six Business Names at One Address
Page after page of a home-care company's site carried a second LocalBusiness node in its structured data, named from the page title. A full pass found 125 nodes across 118 pages and 66 distinct names. Of those names, 65 were wrong. The wrong names read Home, Contact and the city name, each paired with the same address, phone and coordinates. The defect sat on pages. None of the 45 posts, 11 testimonials or 2 categories had it, so it was scoped to a page template. A misspelt telePhone key next to the plugin's correct output was a string we could search for.
Twenty-Two Redirect Rules Pointing at Pages That Returned 404
A personal-injury law firm's redirect table had been checked twice, and both audits looked only at sources: loops, self-redirects, chains, duplicates. Where the rules sent people went unchecked. We diffed all 157 unique destinations against the 450 canonical URLs in the XML sitemaps, which left 33 candidates, and 22 returned 404. The Spanish content had moved under an /es/ prefix and the table was never repointed. All 22 were repointed, 19 to the matching /es/ page, leaving 281 rules and none ending at a 404.
What's on the Table
I rarely sell all five to one business at once, and the audit is what decides which apply.
- Internet Marketing Service: SEO, content, and the technical groundwork that gets a site found in the first place.
- Website Designer: the site itself: fast, built to convert whatever traffic the SEO work brings in.
- Video Production Service: video that sounds like the business itself, not a generic stock reel.
- Advertising Agency: ad spend that covers the short-term gap while the organic work builds underneath it.
- Automation Company: the follow-up and lead-routing work that keeps a new lead from going cold.
I would rather start with one or two and prove them out. I have watched a business buy all five up front and use two of them.
This one page is a single entry in the full United States directory, with the country-level numbers alongside it.
Population, competition, and industry mix all move by state, which is why this isn't one generic national page.
The Five Services
Work here usually draws from these five things. I couldn't tell you which ones you need without seeing the site first.

Quick Answers
Do You Have an Office in Florida?
No, and I won't pretend otherwise. Houston, Texas is home base, and a client in Florida gets exactly the process I run everywhere without a physical office. A launch or a shoot gets me on a plane; a status update never does.
How Is Working With Someone Outside Florida Different From Hiring Locally?
What's different is logistics, not effort. A kickoff call up front and a written plan you can push back on replace a local shop's desk visits. I've caught a slipping number in a monthly report before a client ever asked about it. One person carries the account, not a rotating team.
With Florida This Crowded a Market, What Does Working With Me Here Include?
Five pieces make up working together: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. Which ones apply is an audit question, and I've been wrong guessing it in advance.
How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in Jacksonville?
I reply within a business day of your first message, no phone tag. Once we've talked through the business, the kickoff call comes next. A written plan you can question comes before anything ships.
Is Jacksonville the Best Market, or Should I Look at the Whole State?
Jacksonville (1,009,833 people) carries the biggest market, and I've found it's typically the toughest one to rank in. Competition concentrates wherever the customers already are. Tampa-St. Petersburg-Clearwater runs second. A plan bolted on as an afterthought wastes money there; it earns its own plan, not a footnote.
Which Industries in Florida Benefit Most From This?
The top industries, per BLS data, are Health Care and Social Assistance, Retail Trade, and Accommodation and Food Services. Those are also where I see the competition run thickest, the most businesses chasing the same searches.
