Internet Marketing Service in Alabama: Run From Houston.

Need internet marketing in Alabama? Caleb Schallert here, based in Houston. Websites, SEO, video, ads and automation, all from one person, the same remote-first way I work everywhere I don't have a local office. It starts with an audit and a plan you can question; Search Console data every month shows what moved.

Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code

Whether you're in Huntsville or anywhere else in the state, give me your ZIP. I'll show you what results look like for your market.

I build to fit the ground I'm standing on. In Alabama, that's red-clay farmland, cotton bolls catching late light, a low pine ridge behind it.

Working With Me From Houston

You don’t get a local rep, since I don’t have one to send. I run this from Houston, same as everywhere else.

  • I read the site before I touch it
  • You question the plan before it ships
  • Something concrete by the first few weeks

You get the same opening month as any client: audit, then plan, then something you can see.

Caleb Schallert, based in Houston, works with clients across the country.

Here’s what I build for you.

Audit

I start by reading what’s already there

Build

Paced work, remote-first, nothing hidden

Prove

Search Console data, read out loud, monthly

Audit, build, prove: the same three steps in every state.

There is no shortcut version of this. Audit, build, prove, because I’ve seen what happens when a step gets skipped.

The Market, by the Numbers

5,157,699 people, 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate). That's Alabama, and the size of the field a business here competes in.

  • 5,157,699 people, 24th by population
  • 105,720 employer businesses, 26th nationally (2023)
  • About 20.5 employer businesses per 1,000 people
  • Largest city: Huntsville, 230,402 people

Search volume and competition both peak right there (4% of the state's population), the single toughest spot in the state.

Here are the 4 largest metro areas by population; each carries its own local search reality:

  • Birmingham: 1,192,583 people
  • Huntsville: 542,297 people
  • Mobile: 412,339 people
  • Montgomery: 387,885 people

The cross-border metro Alabama businesses also compete in: Columbus, GA (324,343).

The state runs on Central time, the same clock I'm on in Houston. Scheduling a call is exactly as easy as it would be with someone local. I've never made a client adjust to Houston hours; the standing call moves to fit them.

The Top Industries

These three sectors carry more of the workforce than anything else, per the BLS's own count, not my guess.

  • Manufacturing: 285,184 jobs, 2024 (and it's research, not a map pack, that decides who gets the call)
  • Retail Trade: 239,581 jobs, 2024 (and the map pack rewards whoever keeps hours and inventory current)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance: 231,581 jobs, 2024 (and I build the trust page first here, before anything else)

I have never reused one sector's playbook on another and gotten away with it.

Type internet marketing company and Google can't tell if you mean the whole state or Birmingham specifically.

  • The one searcher who truly means the whole state is usually someone about to move here
  • Voice search skews local harder than typed search does, even inside the state
  • A search from Birmingham already reads local to Google before I touch anything
  • Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
  • Mobile search leans local by default; desktop leans toward research

Guessing which reader showed up costs more than just writing for both. I've rebuilt more than one page that tried answering both searches at once and answered neither. Two searches, one page.

What I Would Do First for an Alabama Business

Birmingham and Huntsville don't share a single competitor, so the plan for one never carries over to the other.

  • Manufacturing is 285,184 jobs strong statewide (2024), so I'd skip the map-pack work and build for the buyer running spec comparisons instead
  • Retail Trade is 239,581 jobs strong statewide (2024). A wrong closing time can lose more business than a slow website ever does
  • Health Care and Social Assistance is 231,581 jobs strong statewide (2024), so I've found reviews move this field more than proximity ever does, so that's first

I've opened plans for two different metros in the same month and watched them share zero competitors. Days 30 to 60 build the Birmingham-specific plan; a smaller metro can probably win faster on a thinner field. The plan I hand a business depends more on who its customers are and where they're searching from than on anything I could guess before opening the audit and reading what it turns up. The sector decides.

SEO company Alabama — a garden path forking into three rows, the nearest one staked and growing like Alabama's own red-clay cotton ground — Caleb Schallert.
The stake goes into the row that's already growing. In Alabama that means naming the metro before naming the service.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack

I'd rather name the gap between Birmingham and Montgomery up front than promise the same pace for both. The state's industries don't share a calendar, so I don't build like they do.

  • Manufacturing is the one to watch here; it stays production-driven and largely flat across the year
  • Retail Trade is the one to watch here; it moves with the national shopping calendar, busiest late in the year
  • Health Care and Social Assistance is the one to watch here; it runs the flattest calendar of the three, steady demand year-round

With 105,720 employer businesses statewide, no single season covers all of them. Pace changes by metro.

Internet Marketing Service in Alabama: What an Audit Usually Turns Up

Here are two problems that audits on other sites turned up, with the numbers from each. Whether your site has either one is something only an audit can say.

  • One of three origins was dead; five of five requests then returned 200
  • Click-through rate of 1.01 percent against 0.09 percent site-wide

One of Three Origins Behind the Firewall Was a Dead Server

A residential remodeler moved hosts. The firewall kept the old address on file next to the two live ones. The firewall spreads uncached requests across every address it holds. Some visits could reach a dead server. Two answered 200 with the live site and one answered 404, a likely source of the intermittent errors nobody could reproduce in a browser. We removed the dead address and cleared the cache. After that, five uncached requests returned 200 five times, and audits behind a firewall now test every origin directly.

Eighty-Three Thin Pages the Rules Said to Delete

Every thin-content rule said to delete the 83 short case-result pages on a personal-injury law firm's site. Their median was 253 words, and 71 of them ran under 300. Yet their click-through rate was 1.01 percent against 0.09 percent across the site. That is about eleven times higher. One page had a settlement figure in its title. It took 16 clicks from 584 impressions. The recommendation was to keep every one and link them from the matching service pages, because a concrete result in a title is what people comparing firms click.

What an Engagement Can Include

Whether a business needs one of these or all five comes out of the audit, and it is usually not all five.

  • Internet Marketing Service: the groundwork search runs on: SEO, content, and the technical fixes that get a site found.
  • Website Designer: a site built fast and clean enough to convert the traffic the SEO work already sends it.
  • Video Production Service: video that sounds like the business itself, not a generic stock reel.
  • Advertising Agency: ads that buy time for the organic rankings still building underneath them.
  • Automation Company: the automation layer that routes and follows up on a lead before it has a chance to go cold.

One or two first, the rest once those are working. Nobody has yet told me they regretted starting smaller than they planned.

This page sits inside the full United States directory, right alongside the country-level numbers and every other state I've already built a page for.

No generic national page could hold this: population, competition, and industry mix all move state to state.

The Five Services

An engagement usually pulls from this same set of five. Where your business stands today decides which ones, not a sales pitch.

Quick Answers

Do You Have an Office in Alabama?

No, I'm based in Houston, Texas. An Alabama client gets the same remote-first process I use everywhere I don't have a physical office. A launch, a shoot, or a leadership meeting gets me on a plane; nothing less does, and I'd rather say that than imply a local presence that isn't real.

How Is Working With Someone Outside Alabama Different From Hiring Locally?

What's different is logistics, not effort. A kickoff call up front and a written plan you can push back on replace a local shop's desk visits. I've caught a slipping number in a monthly report before a client ever asked about it. One person carries the account, not a rotating team.

What Does Working With Me in Alabama Include?

Five pieces make up working together: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. Which ones apply is an audit question, and I've been wrong guessing it in advance.

How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in Huntsville?

A business day is usually all it takes to hear back from me, no phone tag involved. We talk through the business, set the kickoff call, and a written plan follows before anything moves.

Is Huntsville the Best Market, or Should I Look at the Whole State?

Huntsville (230,402 people) is the state's largest market, usually the hardest one to rank in. I put the most work where the most customers already are. I'd still build Huntsville its own plan; it's a separate local-search reality, not an afterthought bolted onto the bigger metro's strategy.

Does Alabama's Manufacturing Economy Need a Different Plan Than Most States?

It does. Most of the states I've built pages for run on health care first; this one's own BLS numbers put Manufacturing on top instead, and I build the plan to that, not to what most states look like.
