Internet Marketing Service in Kansas: Built to Convert.

The need is a plan that fits Kansas, and the work spans websites, SEO, video, ads and automation. I'm Caleb Schallert, Houston-based, working the same remote-first way I work everywhere without a local office. An audit first, a plan you can question, and Search Console data every month showing what moved.

Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code

In Wichita or anywhere else across the state, your ZIP tells me which market you're competing in. Give it to me and I'll show you what results look like there.

What Working With Me Looks Like

Clients here don’t get a local address, because there isn’t one to give them. Houston is where I sit.

  • A quick look at what’s already live
  • A plan you get to push back on
  • Something to see within the first few weeks

Month one follows that order every time, no exceptions. Nothing turns into a black box.

Caleb Schallert, based in Houston, works with clients across the country.

The Numbers Behind the Market

2,970,606 people, 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate). That's Kansas, and the size of the field a business here competes in.

  • 2,970,606 people, 34th by population
  • 76,139 employer businesses, 33rd nationally (2023)
  • About 25.6 employer businesses per 1,000 people
  • Largest city: Wichita, 400,991 people

Search volume and competition both peak right there (13% of the state's population), the single toughest spot in the state.

Kansas's 3 largest metro areas, by population, each its own local search reality:

  • Wichita: 661,217 people
  • Topeka: 232,648 people
  • Manhattan: 134,892 people

Cross-border metros Kansas businesses also compete in: Kansas City, MO (2,253,579) and Joplin, MO (207,131).

The state splits across 2 federally defined time zones: Central and Mountain, depending on where in the state you are. That's per 49 CFR Part 71. I've never made a client adjust to Houston hours; the standing call moves to fit them.

Industries the Workforce Runs On

I pulled BLS employment data instead of guessing, and these are the industries the state runs on.

  • Health Care and Social Assistance: 196,320 jobs, 2024 (and a worried searcher reads credentials the way a buyer reads a spec sheet)
  • Manufacturing: 174,495 jobs, 2024 (where local intent barely exists; it's mostly buyers doing their homework first)
  • Retail Trade: 142,132 jobs, 2024 (and the map pack here punishes stale listings faster than almost any other field)

A retailer and a clinic never get the same build from me, whatever the state line says.

I've seen a business win the statewide search and still lose the metro-level one sitting right underneath it. So every state page I build has to answer two searches, not one. Both count.

  • A search from Wichita already reads local to Google before I touch anything
  • Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
  • Mobile search leans local by default; desktop leans toward research
  • Plenty of searches for the state by name come from people who've never set foot here

An internet marketing search means one thing to a shortlist-builder and another to someone already down to one metro. Both readers matter.

What I Would Do First for a Kansas Business

A plan built for Wichita carries nothing over to Topeka; the competitors simply aren't the same.

  • Health Care and Social Assistance is 196,320 jobs strong statewide (2024), so I've found reviews move this field more than proximity ever does, so that's first
  • Manufacturing is 174,495 jobs strong statewide (2024), so spec sheets outrank a map pack here, so that's where the content starts
  • Retail Trade is 142,132 jobs strong statewide (2024), so I'd get the hours and inventory accurate first; the map pack rewards it

Fewer businesses competing for the same terms usually means the audit turns up a shorter, sharper list of fixes. Days 30 to 60 build the Wichita-specific plan; a smaller metro can probably win faster on a thinner field. The audit settles it.

SEO company Kansas — a garden path forking into three rows, the nearest one staked and growing like Kansas's own Flint Hills prairie with wind turbines — Caleb Schallert.
The stake goes into the row that's already growing. In Kansas that means naming the metro before naming the service.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack

I've moved a listing up in Manhattan faster than I've ever managed in Wichita, purely because fewer businesses were competing for the same spot. I've never planned a build around a single calendar; the state doesn't run on one.

  • Health Care and Social Assistance is the one to watch here; it runs the flattest calendar of the three, steady demand year-round
  • Manufacturing is the one to watch here; it stays flat most months, driven by orders more than seasons
  • Retail Trade is the one to watch here; it swings hard around the holidays, same as the rest of the country

Its 76,139 employer businesses sit across industries with sharply different seasonal rhythms. Launch before the seasonal window opens and it usually costs more than the three weeks of waiting would have. The calendar decides pace.

Internet Marketing Service in Kansas: What an Audit Usually Turns Up

Two findings follow, each from an audit on someone else's site. They show the work and say nothing about your site until it has been looked at.

  • On-page score from 20 to 73 on a keyword change alone
  • 331 legacy URLs worth 1.58 million impressions over 16 months

A 4,100-A-Month Keyword That Belonged to a Government Program

On volume alone, a home-care company's service page had been given a keyword searched 4,100 times a month. The terms around that keyword belonged to a national benefit program, with its acronym and state versions. A private company cannot win it. It would not convert the traffic if it did. The page's title, URL and H1 already matched a phrase searched 2,300 times a month, and changing the target alone took the on-page score from 20 to 73. We now read a keyword's ten nearest neighbors before committing to it.

1.58 Million Impressions of Search History Behind Old URLs

After a migration, a multi-location franchise's legacy addresses redirected to location homepages or to a 404 page. Its top commercial phrase fell from about 280 impressions a month to 26 over three months. Mapping the old addresses gave 331 legacy URLs. They had earned 1.58 million impressions and 29.2K clicks over 16 months. We wrote five rewrite rules at the host and imported 290 rules at the redirect service. A random sample of 24 URLs all matched. A recovery check was scheduled for about two weeks out. The gain was not yet measured.

The full United States directory holds every state page I've built, this one among them, next to the country-level numbers.

Quick Answers

Do You Have an Office in Kansas?

I'm based in Houston, Texas, with no Kansas storefront to point to. Every client gets the same remote-first process. When a trip is truly warranted, a launch, a shoot, a leadership meeting, I book it. Otherwise the work runs remote, and I don't pretend it's something else.

How Is Working With Someone Outside Kansas Different From Hiring Locally?

The logistics change; the standard doesn't. A kickoff call replaces the desk visit, and a monthly report built on Search Console data replaces the drop-in. I've told a client bad news before they asked for it.

With Kansas This Crowded a Market, What Does Working With Me Here Include?

Working together draws from five things: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. I size that to the audit's findings, never to a fixed tier.

How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in Wichita?

I reply to a first message within one business day, no phone tag. The kickoff call happens right after we've talked. A written plan comes before anything ships, and you get to push back on it.
