New Jersey
Internet Marketing Service in New Jersey: From One Person.
I'm Caleb Schallert, based in Houston, and New Jersey businesses come here for internet marketing that covers all of it: websites, SEO, video, ads and automation. Same remote-first way of working as anywhere I don't keep a local office: an audit, a plan you get to see, and Search Console data every month, proof included.
Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code
In Newark or anywhere else across the state, your ZIP tells me which market you're competing in. Give it to me and I'll show you what results look like there.

Working With Me From Houston
I’ve never opened an office in the state, and I say so upfront instead of pretending otherwise.
- What’s live gets read first
- A plan drafted for your pushback
- Movement you can point to inside weeks
For a business like yours, the first month always looks like that. I’ve never shortened it.

Here’s what I build for you.
Audit
What’s live today, checked first

On a cadence you can see, remote-first

Dated Search Console numbers, not a feeling
Every client gets the same three steps as everywhere I work. But I’d rather hand you a number than tell you it’s going well.
The Market, by the Numbers
So here's where I start every plan. 9,500,851 people (U.S. Census Bureau estimate), New Jersey's population as of 2024.
- 9,500,851 people, 11th by population
- 237,968 employer businesses, 10th nationally (2023)
- About 25.0 employer businesses per 1,000 people
- Largest city: Newark, 317,303 people
The hardest market to break into sits right there (3% of the state's population), where the volume concentrates.
By population there are 2 metro areas, and each one is its own local search reality:
- Trenton-Princeton: 392,138 people
- Atlantic City-Hammonton: 372,989 people
Cross-border metros New Jersey businesses also compete in: New York, NY (19,940,274), Philadelphia, PA (6,330,422), and Allentown, PA (886,418).
The state runs on Eastern time, 1 hour ahead of Houston's Central time, per 49 CFR Part 71. It's a genuine factor in scheduling, and I plan around it instead of a Houston-only calendar.
Industries the Workforce Runs On
The workforce concentrates in these three sectors. I check the BLS numbers on this before I build a plan, every time.
- Health Care and Social Assistance: 656,246 jobs, 2024 (where the review count matters about as much as the address does)
- Retail Trade: 427,389 jobs, 2024 (a calendar with sharp seasonal swings, where stale hours cost a click)
- Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services: 335,825 jobs, 2024 (and I've watched a thin bio lose out to a solid credential more than once)
A retailer and a clinic never get the same build from me, whatever the state line says.
Metro Search vs. Statewide Search
A Trenton-Princeton search and a statewide search come from two different readers entirely.
- The one searcher who truly means the whole state is usually someone about to move here
- Voice search skews local harder than typed search does, even inside the state
- A search from Trenton-Princeton already reads local to Google before I touch anything
- Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
I built a page once for the statewide search alone, and watched it miss half the demand sitting one click from a single metro. Few pages manage to serve both readers at once. Two searches, one page.
What I Would Do First for a New Jersey Business
First I'd name the metro, Trenton-Princeton or Atlantic City-Hammonton; the plan looks different depending on which one.
- The first build here is trust, not location; I've seen that hold up every time, since Health Care and Social Assistance alone accounts for 656,246 jobs here in 2024
- Accurate hours and current inventory move the map pack more than anything else, since Retail Trade alone accounts for 427,389 jobs here in 2024
- I'd lead with the strongest credentials before anything else in a crowded field, since Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services alone accounts for 335,825 jobs here in 2024
I've opened plans for two different metros in the same month and watched them share zero competitors. The build gets sized to whichever metro the business competes in, Trenton-Princeton included. I've turned down a request to reuse last year's plan for a new client in the same sector, because the metro alone had shifted enough that the old numbers no longer meant what they used to. Metro first, always.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack
I've moved a listing up in Atlantic City-Hammonton faster than I've ever managed in Trenton-Princeton, purely because fewer businesses were competing for the same spot. The state's industries don't share a calendar, so I don't build like they do.
- Health Care and Social Assistance, doesn't swing with the seasons the way retail does
- Retail Trade, rides the national retail season, sharper near the holidays
- Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services, runs research-driven, without a sharp season
I count 237,968 employer businesses here, and they don't all move on the same clock. Plain and simple.
Internet Marketing Service in New Jersey: What an Audit Usually Turns Up
None of this is from your site. It is what audits on other sites turned up, set down so you can see what a first look finds.
- Homepage weight: 32 MB down to 5.7 MB, a cut of 82 percent
- Five-page total: 7,204 ms down to 747 ms
A Homepage That Downloaded 32 MB Before Anyone Scrolled
A children's apparel store's new homepage pulled in 32 MB on first view, because a five-video slider started loading before anyone scrolled. The metadata-only tag should have been cheap. Yet MP4 files on that platform have to be mostly read to reach the metadata. We set the videos to load nothing until visible, with a poster in place. Page weight dropped to 5.7 MB, an 82 percent cut. The other four slides sat at zero bytes. The hero image shrank as well. It had been a 1.36 MB PNG and is now a 146 KB progressive JPEG.
An Edge Cache That Bypassed Every Single Request
The host's edge cache was bypassing every page we sampled on a rental-housing referral site. Five of five. The origin spent 808 to 902 ms on each one, so every visitor and every Googlebot visit paid for a full render. Switching the cache on was one toggle. Cold fetches ran 1,463 to 1,980 ms. Warm ones ran 133 to 181 ms. The five-page total fell from 7,204 ms to 747 ms, though the first request to each page still travels to the origin.
What's on the Table
I rarely sell all five to one business at once, and the audit is what decides which apply.
- Internet Marketing Service: SEO, content, and the technical groundwork that gets a site found in the first place.
- Website Designer: a site built fast and clean enough to convert the traffic the SEO work already sends it.
- Video Production Service: video work that sounds like the brand talking, not a stock-footage placeholder.
- Advertising Agency: ads that buy time for the organic rankings still building underneath them.
- Automation Company: the automation layer that routes and follows up on a lead before it has a chance to go cold.
I would rather start with one or two and prove them out. I have watched a business buy all five up front and use two of them.
This page is part of a full United States directory, alongside the country-level numbers, so each state can be read against the rest of the country, not in isolation.
A single national template can't hold up here, since population, competition, and industry mix all shift by state.
The Five Services
These five things cover most of what a business ends up needing. I've had clients start on one and grow into three.

Quick Answers
Do You Have an Office in New Jersey?
No office in New Jersey. I work out of Houston, Texas, same as anywhere else I don't keep a physical address. A launch, a shoot, or a leadership meeting is what gets me on a flight. I'd rather say that outright than fake a local office to sound bigger than I am.
How Is Working With Someone Outside New Jersey Different From Hiring Locally?
Distance changes the tools, not the standard I hold myself to. A kickoff call and a plan you can question take the place of a desk visit. I still answer my own phone, and I'll tell you straight when something isn't working, the same as if I were sitting across the table from you.
With New Jersey This Crowded a Market, What Does Working With Me Here Include?
Five things sit inside working together: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. I've turned down selling all five to a business that only needed two of them, and I'd do it again.
How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in Newark?
I reply within a business day of your first message, no phone tag. Once we've talked through the business, the kickoff call comes next. A written plan you can question comes before anything ships.
Is Newark the Best Market, or Should I Look at the Whole State?
Newark (317,303 people) is the state's largest market, usually the hardest one to rank in. I put the most work where the most customers already are. I'd still build Atlantic City-Hammonton its own plan; it's a separate local-search reality, not an afterthought bolted onto the bigger metro's strategy.
Which Industries in New Jersey Benefit Most From This?
By BLS data, the top industries are Health Care and Social Assistance, Retail Trade, and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services. I usually find the competition thickest there too, since more businesses are fighting for the same searches.
