New York
Internet Marketing Service in New York: Built to Convert.
Caleb Schallert, based in Houston. New York businesses get the same remote-first process I use everywhere I don't have a local office, across websites, SEO, video, ads and automation. An audit, a plan you can read start to finish, and Search Console data every month that proves it moved.
Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code
The state runs on local markets, from New York out. Give me your ZIP, and I'll tell you straight what results look like for your specific one.

Working With Me From Houston
You don’t get a local rep, since I don’t have one to send. I run this from Houston, same as everywhere else.
- First, a plain look at what exists
- Then a plan open to your questions
- Then something you can see, fast
Month one follows that order every time, no exceptions. Nothing turns into a black box.

Here’s what I build for you.
Audit
What’s already there, looked at closely
Build
Remote-first work, on a cadence you can watch
Prove
Search Console data, plain and dated
There is no shortcut version of this. Audit, build, prove, because I’ve seen what happens when a step gets skipped.
The Market, Sourced
New York's population comes in at 19,867,248 people, 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate), the market a local business is up against.
- 19,867,248 people, 4th by population
- 541,313 employer businesses, 4th nationally (2023)
- About 27.2 employer businesses per 1,000 people
- Largest city: New York, 8,478,072 people
I'd call that the hardest market to break into (43% of the state's population), since the rivals pile up wherever the searches do.
The state splits into 5 metro areas by population, each running its own local search reality:
- New York-Newark-Jersey City: 19,940,274 people (spans into New Jersey)
- Buffalo-Cheektowaga: 1,160,172 people
- Rochester: 1,057,218 people
- Albany-Schenectady-Troy: 913,485 people
- Kiryas Joel-Poughkeepsie-Newburgh: 711,730 people
The state runs on Eastern time, 1 hour ahead of Houston's Central time, per 49 CFR Part 71. That means our standing calls land at a time that works for both of us.
Industries the Workforce Runs On
The workforce concentrates in these three sectors. I check the BLS numbers on this before I build a plan, every time.
- Health Care and Social Assistance: 1,818,891 jobs, 2024 (where a worried searcher checks credentials before they check the map)
- Retail Trade: 834,803 jobs, 2024 (a calendar with sharp seasonal swings, where stale hours cost a click)
- Accommodation and Food Services: 751,254 jobs, 2024 (I've watched a business out-rank a nicer competitor purely by replying faster)
Which of these three a business sits in changes the first ninety days more than anything else on this page.
Metro Search vs. Statewide Search
I've stopped assuming an internet marketing search means one thing. Five boroughs, Long Island, and a shop in Buffalo do not want the same answer. The page answers whichever reader shows up.
- The one searcher who truly means the whole state is usually someone about to move here
- Voice search skews local harder than typed search does, even inside the state
- A search from New York-Newark-Jersey City already reads local to Google before I touch anything
- Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
I've explained this same split to more businesses than I can count. Skip either reader and the page loses genuine search volume.
What I Would Do First for a New York Business
The first decision isn't which service to buy. It's which metro the business competes in, since New York-Newark-Jersey City and Buffalo-Cheektowaga aren't fighting the same field.
- 1,818,891 people worked in Health Care and Social Assistance here as of 2024. That's why location comes second here in my experience; credentials and reviews come first
- 834,803 people worked in Retail Trade here as of 2024. That's why I'd rather fix a wrong hour than write a new page, if I had to pick one first
- 751,254 people worked in Accommodation and Food Services here as of 2024. That's why responding matters more than the star average, so I'd start there
Days 30 to 60 build the New York-Newark-Jersey City-specific plan; a smaller metro can probably win faster on a thinner field. I've never built the same plan twice for two different metros, even in the same state.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack
The quietest industry calendar in the state is where I'd start a build, every time. 541,313 employer businesses call the state home, spread across industries that don't share a rhythm.
- Health Care and Social Assistance is one of three here, and it holds level month to month, unlike the other two
- Retail Trade is one of three here, and it swings hard around the holidays, same as the rest of the country
- Accommodation and Food Services is one of three here, and it follows travel patterns more than the calendar year
The state's toughest field sits in New York-Newark-Jersey City; its easiest sits in Kiryas Joel-Poughkeepsie-Newburgh, and I size the proof timeline to whichever one the plan is built for.
Internet Marketing Service in New York: What an Audit Usually Turns Up
Audits on other sites keep turning up the problems below, each with its numbers. They are not a diagnosis of your site, only a picture of what the first pass looks for.
- Homepage weight: 32 MB down to 5.7 MB, a cut of 82 percent
- Thirteen pages: 364 impressions and one click in three months
A Homepage That Downloaded 32 MB Before Anyone Scrolled
A children's apparel store's homepage weighed 32 MB on first view. The new slider had loaded five videos on arrival. The metadata-only tag should have been cheap. Yet MP4 files on that platform have to be mostly read to reach the metadata. We set the videos to load nothing until visible, with a poster in place. Page weight dropped to 5.7 MB, an 82 percent cut. The other four slides sat at zero bytes. The 1.36 MB PNG hero is now a 146 KB JPEG.
Thirteen Pages All Answering One Question
Thirteen pages on a personal-injury law firm's site were all asking whether to hire a personal-injury lawyer. At 373 to 884 words apiece, they drew 364 impressions and one click across three months, and six had none at all. Blog essays dressed as pages, they competed with the main service page. Four earned something and stayed. The other nine were redirected with a 301 to the pillar guide. Redirect first, trash second, purge third. No 404 ever showed.
What an Engagement Can Include
I rarely sell all five to one business at once, and the audit is what decides which apply.
- Internet Marketing Service: SEO, content, and the technical groundwork that gets a site found in the first place.
- Website Designer: the site itself: fast, built to convert whatever traffic the SEO work brings in.
- Video Production Service: video that carries the brand's own voice, not stock-footage filler.
- Advertising Agency: paid ads that cover the gap while the organic rankings build underneath.
- Automation Company: the layer that catches a new lead and follows up before it goes cold.
I would rather start with one or two and prove them out. I have watched a business buy all five up front and use two of them.
This page sits inside the full United States directory, right alongside the country-level numbers and every other state I've already built a page for.
'The market' changes by which state a business competes in, so each state page here runs on its own numbers, not a template.
The Five Services
An engagement usually pulls from this same set of five. Where your business stands today decides which ones, not a sales pitch.

Quick Answers
Do You Have an Office in New York?
No, and I won't pretend otherwise. Houston, Texas is home base, and a client in New York gets exactly the process I run everywhere without a physical office. A launch or a shoot gets me on a plane; a status update never does.
How Is Working With Someone Outside New York Different From Hiring Locally?
The logistics change; the standard doesn't. A kickoff call replaces the desk visit, and a monthly report built on Search Console data replaces the drop-in. I've told a client bad news before they asked for it.
With New York This Crowded a Market, What Does Working With Me Here Include?
Five things sit inside working together: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. I've turned down selling all five to a business that only needed two of them, and I'd do it again.
How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in New York?
You'll hear back within a business day, and I mean from me, not an assistant. The kickoff call comes next, then a written plan you get to push back on before anything ships.
Is New York the Best Market, or Should I Look at the Whole State?
New York (8,478,072 people) is the state's largest market, usually the hardest one to rank in. I put the most work where the most customers already are. I'd still build Buffalo-Cheektowaga its own plan; it's a separate local-search reality, not an afterthought bolted onto the bigger metro's strategy.
Which Industries in New York Benefit Most From This?
Per BLS data: Health Care and Social Assistance, Retail Trade, and Accommodation and Food Services lead employment. In my experience that's usually where the field gets most crowded too, more businesses fighting for the same handful of searches.
