Oregon
Internet Marketing Service in Oregon: Run From Houston.
The need is a plan that fits Oregon, and the work spans websites, SEO, video, ads and automation. I'm Caleb Schallert, Houston-based, working the same remote-first way I work everywhere without a local office. An audit first, a plan you can question, and Search Console data every month showing what moved.
Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code
In Portland or anywhere else across the state, your ZIP tells me which market you're competing in. Give it to me and I'll show you what results look like there.

How Remote Work With Me Runs
Houston is where I work from, and that holds here too. No local address, no pretending there is one.
- What’s live gets read first
- A plan drafted for your pushback
- Movement you can point to inside weeks
That’s what the first month looks like. No black box, no quarterly surprise.

The Market, Sourced
So here's where I start every plan. 4,272,371 people (U.S. Census Bureau estimate), Oregon's population as of 2024.
- 4,272,371 people, 27th by population
- 122,451 employer businesses, 24th nationally (2023)
- About 28.7 employer businesses per 1,000 people
- Largest city: Portland, 635,749 people
That's usually the state's toughest market to rank in (15% of the state's population). Most of the searches live there, and so do most of the rivals.
By population there are 5 metro areas, and each one is its own local search reality:
- Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro: 2,537,904 people
- Salem: 443,416 people
- Eugene-Springfield: 382,396 people
- Bend: 264,407 people
- Medford: 221,331 people
The state splits across 2 federally defined time zones: Mountain and Pacific, depending on where in the state you are. That's per 49 CFR Part 71. I've never made a client adjust to Houston hours; the standing call moves to fit them.
The Top Industries
The workforce concentrates in these three sectors. I check the BLS numbers on this before I build a plan, every time.
- Health Care and Social Assistance: 300,603 jobs, 2024 (I've watched reviews and credentials outweigh being the closest option, more than once)
- Retail Trade: 203,454 jobs, 2024 (and the map pack rewards whoever keeps hours and inventory current)
- Manufacturing: 186,012 jobs, 2024 (and a spec sheet closes more deals here than a map listing ever will)
Which of these three a business sits in changes the first ninety days more than anything else on this page.
Metro Search vs. Statewide Search
More than one owner has told me the state page looked fine; the metro-level leak just hadn't been found yet. So the page ends up answering two searches at once, on purpose.
- The one searcher who truly means the whole state is usually someone about to move here
- Voice search skews local harder than typed search does, even inside the state
- A search from Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro already reads local to Google before I touch anything
- Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
A search for internet marketing covers both a statewide comparison and a single-metro decision. I build for both.
What I Would Do First for an Oregon Business
Naming the metro a business competes in comes before naming a single service. Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro and Salem are not the same contest.
- 300,603 people worked in Health Care and Social Assistance here as of 2024. That's why location comes second here in my experience; credentials and reviews come first
- 203,454 people worked in Retail Trade here as of 2024. That's why I've seen a wrong closing time lose more business than a slow website ever did
- 186,012 people worked in Manufacturing here as of 2024. That's why I've found spec sheets close more deals here than a map listing ever could
The build gets sized to whichever metro the business competes in, Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro included. I've built for markets ten times Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro's size, and the process stays the same; only the pace changes. That's where I start.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack
I've never planned a build around a single calendar; the state doesn't run on one.
- Watch Health Care and Social Assistance closely; it keeps a quiet, even pace no matter the time of year
- Watch Retail Trade closely; it moves with the national shopping calendar, busiest late in the year
- Watch Manufacturing closely; it holds steady output, with barely any seasonal swing
I'd rather name the gap between Portland-Vancouver-Hillsboro and Medford up front than promise the same pace for both. Its 122,451 employer businesses sit across industries with sharply different seasonal rhythms. I've watched two industries in the same state peak in completely different months, and a plan that only tracks one of those calendars ends up quietly wrong for the other half of the year. Smaller fields move faster.
Internet Marketing Service in Oregon: What an Audit Usually Turns Up
These come from audits on other sites, in other industries. None of them describes your business, and I will not know what yours needs until I have looked.
- 331 legacy URLs worth 1.58 million impressions over 16 months
- Zero form conversions reported against 1,103 form entries
1.58 Million Impressions of Search History Behind Old URLs
A franchise went through a migration, and its old addresses were left pointing at location homepages or a 404 page. Its top commercial phrase fell from about 280 impressions a month to 26 over three months. Mapping the old addresses gave 331 legacy URLs. They had earned 1.58 million impressions and 29.2K clicks over 16 months. Five rewrite rules at the host and 290 rules at the redirect service now cover them, and 24 sampled URLs all landed where they should. Recovery had not been measured yet. A check was set for about two weeks later.
Green Tracking Settings and No Conversion Tag on the Site
The ad settings for an in-home-care company looked healthy: enhanced conversions checked, customer data terms accepted, a green tag message. The website itself carried no conversion tag. The report counted zero form conversions on 341 website clicks in 30 days, while the form plugin's own list held 1,103 entries across the two live lead forms. The zero was a tracking failure. The tag work went first, and no page was rebuilt. We now confirm a tag from the page itself, in the rendered HTML and the loaded containers.
The full United States directory holds every state page I've built, this one among them, next to the country-level numbers.
The Five Services
An engagement usually pulls from this same set of five. Where your business stands today decides which ones, not a sales pitch.

Quick Answers
Do You Have an Office in Oregon?
No, I'm based in Houston, Texas. An Oregon client gets the same remote-first process I use everywhere I don't have a physical office. A launch, a shoot, or a leadership meeting gets me on a plane; nothing less does, and I'd rather say that than imply a local presence that isn't real.
How Is Working With Someone Outside Oregon Different From Hiring Locally?
Distance changes the tools, not the standard I hold myself to. A kickoff call and a plan you can question take the place of a desk visit. I still answer my own phone, and I'll tell you straight when something isn't working, the same as if I were sitting across the table from you.
With Oregon This Crowded a Market, What Does Working With Me Here Include?
Working together can pull from five things: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. Which ones your business needs comes out of the audit, and I'd rather undersell it than bundle you into a package.
How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in Portland, Oregon?
I reply to a first message within one business day, no phone tag. The kickoff call happens right after we've talked. A written plan comes before anything ships, and you get to push back on it.
