Idaho
Internet Marketing Service in Idaho: From One Person.
I'm Caleb Schallert, based in Houston, and Idaho businesses come here for internet marketing that covers all of it: websites, SEO, video, ads and automation. Same remote-first way of working as anywhere I don't keep a local office: an audit, a plan you get to see, and Search Console data every month, proof included.
Internet Marketing Service Starts With Your ZIP Code
In Boise City or anywhere else across the state, your ZIP tells me which market you're competing in. Give it to me and I'll show you what results look like there.

What Working With Me Looks Like
You don’t get a local rep, since I don’t have one to send. I run this from Houston, same as everywhere else.
- I look at what’s live before touching anything
- A plan you get a say in
- Something visible before the first month’s out
A first month with a local business runs on that order: audit, plan, then something ships.

The Market, by the Numbers
I start with the plain number here. 2,001,619 people live in Idaho as of 2024 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate).
- 2,001,619 people, 38th by population
- 58,100 employer businesses, 36th nationally (2023)
- About 29.0 employer businesses per 1,000 people
- Largest city: Boise City, 237,963 people
The hardest market to break into sits right there (12% of the state's population), where the volume concentrates.
By population there are 4 metro areas, and each one is its own local search reality:
- Boise City: 845,877 people
- Coeur d'Alene: 188,323 people
- Idaho Falls: 171,233 people
- Twin Falls: 122,565 people
The cross-border metro Idaho businesses also compete in: Logan, UT (161,125).
The state splits across 2 federally defined time zones: Mountain and Pacific, depending on where in the state you are. That's per 49 CFR Part 71. It's a genuine factor in scheduling, and I plan around it instead of a Houston-only calendar.
The Top Industries
BLS employment data names the same answer every time I check: these three sectors carry the state's workforce.
- Health Care and Social Assistance: 118,844 jobs, 2024 (where a worried searcher checks credentials before they check the map)
- Retail Trade: 93,872 jobs, 2024 (where the calendar sets the volume, but accuracy still decides who gets clicked)
- Accommodation and Food Services: 77,676 jobs, 2024 (where the response time matters as much as the rating itself)
Swapping the business name on a borrowed template is not a plan. The sector the business sits in is where the plan starts.
Metro Search vs. Statewide Search
I build every state page to answer two different searches, since an internet marketing search means different things depending on who's typing it.
- A search from Boise City already reads local to Google before I touch anything
- Desktop sessions skew toward comparison shopping; phones skew local
- Mobile search leans local by default; desktop leans toward research
- Plenty of searches for the state by name come from people who've never set foot here
I've watched a search go from a statewide comparison to one city name within the same week. Missing either reader costs genuine search volume, and it adds up fast. One page, two jobs.
What I Would Do First for an Idaho Business
Which metro a business sells into decides the plan before any service does. Boise City and Coeur d'Alene don't share a competitive field.
- 118,844 people worked in Health Care and Social Assistance here as of 2024. That's why location comes second here in my experience; credentials and reviews come first
- 93,872 people worked in Retail Trade here as of 2024. That's why the map pack rewards accuracy over almost anything else here, so that's where I'd fix it first
- 77,676 people worked in Accommodation and Food Services here as of 2024. That's why answering reviews fast matters more than collecting stars, so that's first
The build gets sized to whichever metro the business competes in, Boise City included. I've had a plan built for the wrong metro before; it cost a client a slow month. One plan per business.

Seasons, Timing and the Map Pack
I plan a build around whichever industry's calendar is quietest right now. That's across 58,100 employer businesses statewide, each running its own seasonal pattern.
- Health Care and Social Assistance is one of three here, and it holds level month to month, unlike the other two
- Retail Trade is one of three here, and it tracks the national retail calendar, thicker competition around the holidays
- Accommodation and Food Services is one of three here, and it tracks the visitor calendar more closely than the weather
I've moved a listing up in Twin Falls faster than I've ever managed in Boise City, purely because fewer businesses were competing for the same spot. A business owner once assumed the slow season was the same for every industry nearby, and building on that assumption cost a full quarter before the true seasonal pattern showed up in the data. Pace changes by metro.
Internet Marketing Service in Idaho: What an Audit Usually Turns Up
These come from audits on other sites, in other industries. None of them describes your business, and I will not know what yours needs until I have looked.
- Eighteen pages: 442,766 impressions and 51 clicks
- Thirteen pages: 364 impressions and one click in three months
Eighteen City Pages Took 53 Percent of the Impressions
Joining a personal-injury law firm's crawl to three months of Search Console data showed where the impressions went. Eighteen geo pages collected 442,766 impressions. That was 53 percent of the site's total, and it came to 51 clicks. Another 21 paginated archives were indexed with 282 impressions and zero clicks, while Google listed 166 pages as discovered or crawled but not indexed. We set the paginated archives and both category archive layers to noindex with follow, so they still pass link equity. Nothing was deleted. The city pages went to the top of the rewrite list.
Thirteen Pages All Answering One Question
Thirteen pages on a personal-injury law firm's site were all asking whether to hire a personal-injury lawyer. They ran 373 to 884 words and together earned 364 impressions and one click in three months, and six sat at zero impressions. They were blog essays built as pages, and they pulled against the main service page. We kept the four that earned something and removed nine, each with a 301 to the pillar guide. Redirecting came first. Trashing came second and purging third, so no 404 ever appeared.
Every state I've built a page for lives in the full United States directory. The figures sit next to the rest of the country there, instead of standing alone.
The Five Services
An engagement usually pulls from this same set of five. Where your business stands today decides which ones, not a sales pitch.

Quick Answers
Do You Have an Office in Idaho?
There's no Idaho office to visit. I run this from Houston, Texas, and I'd rather say that outright than dress up a remote setup as something it isn't. A launch, a shoot, a leadership meeting, still gets me on a flight.
How Is Working With Someone Outside Idaho Different From Hiring Locally?
Distance changes the tools, not the standard I hold myself to. A kickoff call and a plan you can question take the place of a desk visit. I still answer my own phone, and I'll tell you straight when something isn't working, the same as if I were sitting across the table from you.
With Idaho This Crowded a Market, What Does Working With Me Here Include?
Five pieces make up working together: internet marketing service, website designer, video production service, advertising agency, automation company. Which ones apply is an audit question, and I've been wrong guessing it in advance.
How Fast Can We Start Working Together If My Business Is in Boise City?
Reach out and I reply within one business day, no phone tag. We'll talk through the business, then set a kickoff call. A written plan follows that you can push back on before anything ships.
